Often at lunch or before the Saturday
social of a back-to-back hunt (two separate tests-- one Saturday and
one Sunday) a fun puppy test is held for dogs big enough to leave
mom, up to 6 months. It is fun. The judges are looking
for spark and instinct, not a trained pup. It is just
a good time for pups, handlers and the gallery. Bring them puppies!
Let the kids run 'em! They both got to start sometime.
A dog doesn't have to be 6 months old to run in started, so enter
that if the pup is beyond this. The puppy stake is strictly for fun
and to introduce the puppy and new owner to hunt tests. Ribbons will
be awarded, but points will not. |
